| What can be done to add some appeal to a small bathroom? The bathroom is clean and nice but I want to make it seem a little more open and yet cozy. |

| For a small bathroom, I would like to have the Japanese style of setting up a bathroom, simple and small, yet complete with bath tub, shower, sink and toilet bowl. The materials used that usually comes in package according to some Japanese are easy to clean and maintain. |

| It depends on how much space you have in that small bathroom. I recommend choosing light colors to make the room seem bigger. Changing the lighting in the room can make a huge difference and isn't to expensive. And overall little things here and there can make all the difference. |

hello Christopher2k7. Actually, most Japanese bathrooms I have seen are in cream, light green and light blue or sky blue motiffs. If I am not mistaken with my estimates, common bathroom size is 1.5x1.5meters.
You are right about the lighting and it is not only at the bathroom but lighting affects every nook in the house. |

| Your paint color or wall paper color could help combined with your lightings. I think the color should be light. Putting a mirror could also provide depth in your small bathroom and it also helps in your ligthing effects. |

| You can still set up bathtubs and showers in the bathroom. There are many types of bathtubs. You have to just set them up properly. So just visit a nearby hardware store and draw up the plan accordingly. |

| If the bathrooom is small and you want to make it seem open, I recommend having everythin off from the center of the room, as in along one wall or evenly spread out. This just add an effect of a large middle wich makes the entire room look larger. Also light colors make an area look bigger, so I suggest re-modeling a little bit and adding some creme colored or white-grey colors to the walls. |

We have a small bathroom upstairs and now that it's warming up we're looking to add a skylight to help open it up and feel a little bigger. The one side of the room has a ceiling with a pretty steep angle so it should help with the head room there as well.
Anyone have experience with skylights in a bathroom? |

I do not have any experience in installing a skylight, but I think it sounds like a great idea for your bathroom. Personally, I love skylights and the way they light up a room.
By the way, welcome to the forum!! _________________ SuperHomeIdeas

I have used a couple of techniques to "open up" my small bathroom.
1. Used large tiles - I used 12"x12" tiles in a light cream tone
2. Pedestal Sink - always classic, white, simple, doesn't crowd the space
3. Extra lighting - sconces above the sink plus 2 overhead lights
4. Frameless glass shower door - shower curtains can stop the eye, glass lets the eye go right through to the back wall of the shower or tub and makes the space seem a lot bigger.
Good luck,
Clint |

| For small bathrooms, the most important thing is to create a sense of space through spartan furnishing. |

for small bathroom, you would fix rounded bathtub, it can not bear more space, and this give you some space...
good luck!! |
