Although carpets require thorough cleaning, most homes would still use a carpet at their homes. When buying a carpet, buy one with a thicker and cushiony pad. The pad prolongs the life of the carpet so choose one which would benefit you most. Also if you do not have much time to clean, choose a carpet with darker color.

Absolutely correct, Choosing a a darker color is a must if you don't have a lot of time to clean it. A little baking soda removes odors and carpeting adds a certain warmth feeling in homes. I don't have carpeting in my current home but i had it at my other one.

Drying up your carpet under the scorching heat of the sun could also help remove foul odor and give you the opportunity to clean the carpet flooring thoroughly. Maintaning a clean carpet is a must especially if you have kids at home.

I have carpet in my house along with three dogs. It can be quite a pain to get around to cleaning it once a weak, however in my house it seems that the lighter carpet seems to be less dirty than the darker carpet. However, this may be because all three of my dogs are "blond" colored and thier hair shows up on dark carpet rather than the baige carpet we have.

We lived in a home with three kids and two dogs. The best carpeting we ever had was a multi colored beige and brown. It looked good all the time and hid a lot of spots and stains.

Carpet is good especially if you have kids at home. It will also keep you warm. My mom feels good when we have carpets. She has an arthritis that’s why she loves to have carpets.

Carpet is not for me; I find it cumbersome and hard to maintain and doesn't match my simple decor in my house.
